⛲ Bath City

Bath City became a World Heritage Site in 1987. Built for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa, which houses the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in. Bath’s compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain, making it the ideal city break. Immerse yourself in Bath’s remarkable collection of museums and galleries, and enjoy year-round festivals, theatre, music and sports. Bath’s stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture is straight from a Jane Austen novel – highlights include the iconic Royal Crescent and the majestic Circus. With so much to see, every visit to Bath will fill up your day with an unforgettable experience of different parts of the city.

The New Royal Bath is a fusion of glass, stone, light and water. This creates a special setting in which to enjoy a Thermae Aqua (a 2-hour spa session). Relax in two spectacular baths, fed by the naturally warm, mineral-rich waters.

The compact nature of Bath makes it ideal to explore on foot, with many of the city’s most iconic sights all within a short walk of each other. And with the countryside on the city’s doorstep, you can easily take to the rolling hills and tranquil surroundings of Bath. Escape the city centre and follow in the footsteps of the Georgians as you promenade down grand streets, stroll through public gardens and meander along the picturesque Kennet and Avon Canal. Take a short amble through the meadows of Bathwick Fields and you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the city. You can push on for the Bath Skyline Walk, the National Trust’s most downloaded walk. This six-mile route will take you through ancient woodland, over an Iron Age hillfort and alongside abandoned limestone quarries!
