A visit to the award winning atmospheric 11th Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival offers an amazing opportunity to gain a better understanding of the superb seafood available to us just off our wonderful shores. Free to attend, our much loved event pops up around Weymouth’s famous historic harbour-side on 14th & 15th July 2018 offering champagne and seafood, family entertainment and here’s a snapshot of what to expect this year : Taste fresh seafood dishes from nearly 100 stalls around the beautiful harbour, or simply relax with a bottle of Pommery Champagne. Be entertained by two different line ups of national chefs as well as our much loved local seafood heroes. Join in with hands on sessions, learn about underutilised species, bring the family to try new experiences and find out why we should all be eating more seafood. Whether you’re just happy to wander, sampling and enjoying great food and local produce, sipping Pommery watching the boats go by or whether you’d prefer to listen to seafood experts debate the future of our seas, there is something for everyone.
Nothe Fort is now one of Weymouth’s major attractions and a venue for a wide range of public events. You don’t have to be a military enthusiast to enjoy your visit. It’s a great day out for all the family with lots to see and explore, so why not come and spend a day with us? You won’t regret it, but beware the fort is haunted.
Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved Forts of its kind. The advances in technology that affected the Fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways.
