We’re repeating once again this truly magical hike to the Cotswolds to explore some of the most beautiful villages in Britain!
Think honey-coloured cottages, cosy pubs, tiny tearooms and narrow streets. Unspoilt market towns and villages of the Cotswolds provide a quintessential English charm found nowhere else in the world. It really is a unique experience!
Starting from the charming old wool merchants’ town of Chipping Campden, home to one of the prettiest High Streets in England, on this hike we will pass through many picturesque, picture-perfect Cotswold villages and towns, such as Broadway, Snowshill, Stanton, Stanway and Winchcombe.
Our route will take us through some of the Cotswolds’ best scenery along rolling hills (the ‘wolds’), woodlands and dramatic escarpment with stunning panoramic views. The whole walk is within the protected Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the largest of the 38 AONBs in England and Wales.
After the hike, we have booked a table for our group in the atmospheric 16-th century Corner Cupboard Inn in the historic Winchcombe – a great way to end a walking day!
Distance: 14 miles (23 km).
Ascent: 450 meters.
There will be a few steep climbs and descents. The hike is suited for people with a medium or excellent level of fitness.
08:45 meet near Hotel Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, W6 8DR (five minute walk from Hammersmith Station); 09:00 sharp departure; 11:00-19:00 hiking Cotswold villages, dinner in Winchcombe; 19:00 departure; 21:00 London, Hammersmith.
There will be a variety of nice places along the way to buy your lunch and hot drinks, however, feel free to bring your own packed lunch.
This hike is led by an experienced, Outdoor First Aid qualified hike leader.
What to bring:
We will take care of the rest, so just turn up and have a great day hiking 😊!
If you’d like to walk at a faster pace than the group, we recommend to download the Maps.me app on your phone. All maps in the app are offline, which means that you’ll be able to use them without an internet connection or in places with poor reception. The Maps.me app is free and is very easy to use. On the day, I will explain how to use the app and share the GPS route of the hike. For more details on how to download the app see here.
Traveling in small groups creates a friendly atmosphere. We aim to have no more than 16 walkers per group leader.
This tour, as well as any other Evebus Tours, can be arranged for private groups. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org with email subject “Private tours”.
