The Lake District, a region and national park in northwest England, is a popular holiday destination. It’s known for its glacial ribbon lakes, rugged fell mountains and historic literary associations. Market towns such as Kendal, Keswick and Ambleside are bases for exploring the area and home to traditional inns, galleries of local art and outdoor equipment shops.
This time we are going to climb two peaks of the Lake District and enjoy the astonishing view from the snowy summits of Skiddaw & Blencathra.
Saturday: 07:45 meet at the Hotel Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, W6 8DR; 08:00 departure; 14:00-19:00 hiking to the six highest mountain in England Skiddaw (Difficult, Distance: 15 Km/Ascent: 900 metres, sunset 17:00, night walking); 19:00 check-in at the accommodation, free time to explore Keswick for dinner.
Sunday: 08:00-08:30 breakfast; 08:30 departure; 09:00-13:00 hiking up to the summit of Blencathra (Challenging, Distance: 10 Km/Ascent: 700 metres), 12:00-14:00 lunch in a rustic pub of 17th century Horse & Farrier; 14:00 departure; 21:00 London, Hammersmith.
If you are not good at hiking, you may still join us for this tour and enjoy your own sightseeing walks around the national park and our designated bus stops. Optional easy 10km route on Sunday along Derwent Water Lake.
